Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026 · covers the Kettlebeat app (iPhone and Apple Watch). Visits to mautecs.de are covered by the website privacy policy. The German version is legally binding.
In short: Kettlebeat needs no account, shows no ads and contains no analytics or tracking tools. The app has no server of its own. Your workout data stays on your iPhone, your Apple Watch and – if you allow it – in Apple Health. We receive none of it.

2. Data in the app
2.1 Workout plan and history
The app stores your workout plan (exercises, weights, rounds, reps), your settings (e.g. kg or lb) and your workout history (date, duration, exercises, weights, reps per round and, for Apple Watch workouts, average and maximum heart rate and active energy). This data is stored only on your devices.
Your iPhone and Apple Watch exchange the plan, the weight unit, the Pro status and finished workouts over the connection between the two devices (Apple WatchConnectivity). We have no access to it.
2.2 Apple Health (HealthKit)
Kettlebeat uses Apple Health only if you allow it in the iOS or watchOS dialog. You can change this at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Kettlebeat.
- iPhone: the app writes your workouts to Health (workout type, duration, pauses, one segment per round, exercises, weights and reps as metadata). It does not read any data from Health.
- Apple Watch: during a workout the app reads heart rate and active energy to show them live, and writes the workout with these values to Health.
- Large timer on iPhone (Kettlebeat Pro): while a workout runs on Apple Watch, the watch sends the timer state and heart rate directly to your iPhone through HealthKit.
Heart rate and workout data are health data (Art. 9 GDPR). They are processed only on your devices, never sent to us or third parties, never used for advertising and never mirrored to iCloud by the app. The legal basis is your explicit consent through the Health permission (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time in the Health settings. Whether Apple backs up your Health data to iCloud is set in your iCloud settings; Apple is responsible for that.
2.3 Purchases (Kettlebeat Pro)
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive neither your name, your email address nor any payment data. The app checks on your device, through Apple StoreKit, whether Kettlebeat Pro is active. Apple only gives us aggregated sales reports that don't identify individual people. Apple's Privacy Policy applies.
2.4 Crash reports and app analytics from Apple
If you enabled Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers, Apple provides us with crash reports and usage statistics in anonymized form. We use them only to fix bugs. The legal basis is your consent given to Apple (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can turn it off there at any time.
2.5 No ads, no tracking
The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking tools, and it doesn't connect to any server of ours.
3. Website
Visits to mautecs.de, including the Kettlebeat pages, are covered by the website privacy policy.
4. Contact by email
If you write to us, we use your email address and the content of your message only to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, for general inquiries Art. 6(1)(f)). We delete the message once it's resolved, unless statutory retention periods apply.
5. Retention and deletion
- Plan, settings and history stay on your devices until you delete the app. You can delete single workouts in History.
- You delete workouts in Apple Health in the Health or Fitness app.
- We don't store any app data ourselves that we could delete.
6. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). Just write to kettlebeat@mautecs.de.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the one responsible for us: the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg), Heilbronner Straße 35, 70191 Stuttgart, Germany, www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de.
7. Changes
If the app changes in a way that involves processing other data – for example through new features – we will update this policy beforehand. The version published here applies.
